BAMiAM.tv aka B.A. Miale is a Brooklyn-based multifaceted video artist.

Aside from directing music videos (The Giraffes, Les Savy Fav, Hopewell, 2 Skinnee J's, Diamondsnake) she has opened up for Devo DJing in a gorilla suit, had an episode of CSI:NY based on her escapades and in 2007 figured out how to make her Roland AX-1 KEYTAR PLAY VIDEO.

While honing this skill, she's jumped around onstage with 2 Skinnee Js (who now consider her part of the band), Vic Thrill, etc and has live video mixed for a growing roster including The Bogmen, Camper Van Beethoven, Hopewell, countless DJs, circus freaks and many more. Her "projectile dysfunctions" as she affectionately refers to them have been spewed across NYC venues like Nokia Theater, Irving Plaza, Webster Hall and Brooklyn art spaces like Rubulad, Glasslands and Mighty Robot.

Unfortunately, when most folks see her play, they have no idea what it is she's actually doing. We attempted to clear up any confusion in the reel below:

2 Skinnee Js @ The Norva
Much like the J’s entire catalog, B.A created a high-energy, psychedelic light show-- chock full of day glow sci-fi, pop-culture irreverences and monkeys. Watch her play her vidi-keytar on stage with the band.

VIC THRILL
Working with Vic since their inception in 2000, this is the one band that considers B.A a member.

The first clip is an "AV Jam" to "The Belle of HulaHula". Along with her keytar, B.A is using a flashlight to manipulate the video.

Next clips are promo pieces to "hummingbird pnemonia" and "Hell Ball Rolls" which volleys between the live video mix and the stage performance.

Next is a highlight reel from a show at Bowery Electric to the tune "They Want You To Be Just Like Them.

Last are two clips from shows at Santo's Party House, the first being for the song "Lost In Time". The audio is a little rough but you'll get the idea, if you don't here's the album track.

The last clip is the guitar solo/total spaz-out to the end of the song "Smeared"

Here's a small sampling of a more atmospheric video set B.A was asked to create for this holiday spectacular. This time she opted for ambience over day glow.

Although B.A can live video mix any tune on the spot, her specialty lies in
premeditated sequences personalized for each tune. After dissecting every
song both sonically and lyrically, B.A conjures up imagery that creates an
audio-visual connection which adds another dimension to the performance
without overshadowing the band.

She consults with the band as to what they'd like the vibe of the projections to be whether its dark, psychedelic, campy, weird, or the combination of the aformentioned. Content-wise, she never opts for the obvious (unless there's a twist) and creates an audio-visual connection that bugs audiences out (in a good way) and turns a show into a full on AV experience.
