That time of the month

In 1993 I was a senior in high school. I hung out with a bunch of guidettes with crappy taste in freestyle who were mean to me.
In 1993 Beavis and Butthead spun off of Liquid Television and that was enough to make up for the craptacular social life. Not only was I getting this awesome cartoon that had been doing what me and my best friends (not the guidettes) had been doing for years - cracking ourselves up mocking (yet totally embracing) music videos - but I was also getting exposure to some bands that remain my favorites to this day. Ween. The Flaming Lips. But what I need to give props to right now is the cramps.

Yes, I know they were around way before 1993. So before you start your pissing contest "I saw them live/heard them/bought their first album and still have the receipt from 1976" -- I'm not interested. I don't have to pee.

BUt when I saw the video for "Bikini Girls With Machine Guns" courtesy of B&B I kind of lost it. And that started my love of the cramps.

(warning this is censored. I never realized how easily "LSD" can be replaced by "Tenessee".)

Fast-forward 15 years to the wonderful world of youtube. Where you can see all their masterpieces in their weird, hilarious, and sexy glory (gory)

There's this NSFM (not safe for mom. I don't really care about NSFW, mainly because the direction my own monitor faces.) video that was on regular rotation at YouTuebsdays. Requested by me of course.

So simple, yet pure entertainment.

Last tuesday, I played that, then decided to go on a Cramp Rampage (Crampage) and found this gem. This is even more NSFM, but the opening shot is B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T.

OK, I wanna bust out before I get caught in a downpour. BUt here's one for good measure:

LAST CALL FOR YOUTUEBSDAY - TONIGHT!

Hey kids,

Come out tonight for the last edition of YouTuebsdays at Cyn Lounge indefinitely. I've overextended myself in the past few weeks with the full-time gig and various other freelance (and free freelance) initiatives and I need a little break.

Thanks to all my awesome regulars. I'm yet to stumbled home sans perma-grin on my face and you guys are responsible. And don't fret, you can look forward to it eventually returning as a monthly night most likely at a new location. (If anyone has ideas, hit me up. I've got a few - my backyard being one for summertime fun).

In the meantime, come tonight and bid farewell...
