I am your singing telegram... *BANG!!!*

From garagepunk.com

You ever watch that movie Clue? It was based on the board game of the same name. You know what I’m talking about, dude? It had Lee Ving from the band Fear in it! It also had that chick from the Go-Go’s in it and she got shot. That dude from Home Alone 2 is in it and so is that guy from Mr. Mom and the lady who played the wife of the hardware store owner in Home Improvement and the chick from Speed 2: Cruise Control plays the maid. Well, it was a favorite of mine growing up and I still watch it every few weeks. To make a long story short… too late? Well, this episode was made in honor of that film.

From BAMiAM.tv:

Yes, Yep., UH-huh, yup, yes...and YES YES YES!!!

I love this podcast. My brothers better be all over this!

Shine A Light

Last night I saw "Shine A Light" in all it's iMax'd glory. Or semi-glory. Don't get me wrong, it looked great. But it also looked like a glorified cell phone commercial.

1. The crowd. Or at least the front rows. All young, hot chicks. Thats fine. but they weren't even rocker chicks. They were bland banana republic oatmeal chicks with stones baby doll t-shirts on. It was more like product placement then a crowd.

2. The music. They sounded like a wedding band. It wasn't just Mick, Keith, Ronnie & Chuck -it was them and about 20 other musicians. I'm all for backup singers and a horn section to add spice to a few songs, but the show as a whole was too polished and over-produced.

3.Buddy Guy freaked me the fuck out. There's one point where he his blood-shot stoney eyes just stare into the camera and Scorcese holds that shot for way too long. It may not seem like a big deal, but remember, his face is two-stories high in the iMax theater. I began squirming.

Negativity aside, Keith Richards is hilarious. As is the deadpan antics of Chuck Watts. I wish there was more of them.
And Mick totally still cuts a rug. And I found it adorable how geeked Jack White was to be there. He seemed to be fighting a big goony smile the whole time.

The thing about iMax is you catch everything--i.e jack white and the onstage altercations and conversations between the band that you wouldn't normally catch. And the super dorks in the crowd.

If you can spare $16, go see it, but I wouldn't loose sleep over missing it.
