in case you didn't get the memo...

Now playing on BAMiAM.tv...

I updated the linkage section to accomodate some wonderful blogs my friends have created.

I also added pix to the Live Video MIxing section. I realized I have to add more video, but when I'm lugging around my laptop & projector & keytar & screen & etc, its easy to punk out of bringing my camera as well. That said, if anyone has video of a past gig, Or even better would like to help me out and shoot my next gig, I'd be ever grateful.

This weekend I have a VJ/DJ gig out in Jersey at my friend Jolene's house. Jolene owns a couple of bead stores - I heart her. She shines brighter than anyone I know. When I first met her around 8 or 9 years ago I didn't like her. I thought she was full of shit. "Nobody is that positive and outgoing. She must be making fun of me" I thought. Plus she told me I was wearing cheap beads. I mean I was but whatever. Once I realized she was completely for real, I felt like an ass. THat, and actually seeing what she does for a living --yes, she had every right to judge my beads.

Her house is like Pee-Wee's Love-Inn. She's commissioning me to create a psychedelic AV show in a heated white tent in her yard. I've already began working on the song playlist, anyone have suggestions? I was going to do it sans keytar, but just hearing Jolene shriek with excitability, every time I mention the word "keytar" is enough to get my lazy ass to drag my keytar on New Jersey transit.

Anyone up for an adventure on saturday?

You know how to reach me...

the only movie that exists that makes me bawl my brains out...

"Big Fish"

This DVD has become my bible of life lessons. Here's a sampling of what I've been absorbing all night:

There's a time when a man needs to fight and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny's lost, the ship has sailed and that only a fool will continue. The truth is I've always been a fool.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you're not too big? Maybe this place is just too small?

It was that night I discovered that most things you consider evil or wicked are simply lonely, and lacking in the social niceties.

Ed Bloom (Age 10): I was thinking about death and all. About seeing how you're gonna die. I mean, on one hand, if dying was all you thought about, it could kind of screw you up. But it could kind of help you, couldn't it? Because you'd know that everything else you can survive.

A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal.

There was also something about "the harder the challenge, the sweeter the reward" among other tidbits that aren't listed on imdb and I'm too lazy to go back and find them in the movie.

My point is, if you're feeling unmotivated, pop this sucker in and lose yourself.

Reason #757574 to attend Youtuebsdays...

Learn to love your favorite bands even more...

I love LOVE love narrative videos released years before there was any kind of platform for them. This is brilliant.

But what has given me the most enjoyment today is reading this user comment:

This is just a rip-off of Oasis, cause I definitely remember them doing something very similar. And also, that bit in "Wonderboy" sounds an awful lot like that bit in "She's Electric". I suppose some would defend him, spouting some shit or other about "post-ironic homages", but I for one think he should bally well get his own ideas, and stop ripping off one of Britain's most successful rock acts so unashamedly.

This is almost as good as the fundamentalists who were spouting death threats to my brother & his friend's "Passion of the Wii" video,... and spelling "fag" wrong.
