echo & MY brother...

My new Hopewell video is posted over at Lost At Sea. Woo-Hoo!
And if you missed it, nods over at limewire & stereogum.

Now let me break from the narcissism to venture into some nepotism:
(I'm not so much a narcist as a narTIST. but anyhoo...)

Something to start your weekend off with a hoot- my little bro and his crew's new site: SERIOUS LUNCH.

Here's a sampling of the hilarity that will ensue post-click:

They're having a Serious LAUNCH party tonight at Beauty Bar. Come support cool people doing cool things.

out of the closet

I hate promoting. I really do. This is coming from someone who's too shy to talk to a lot of people because she's positive they don't remember her. (I've been mistaken for a snob more than a few times). I'm also convinced I'm annoying someone by emailing/calling/talking to them just because I don't know them that well. Even if they owe me money or something.

I pride myself in not being high-maintenance/needy and am skeptical of anything that points to the contrary. So please realize every "Watch my new video!" and "See me VJ!" and "Hear me DJ!" and "Witness me dress like a monkey and jump around like an idiot!" post/email/text essentially hurts me more than it hurts you.

Yet I've come to the realization that if I'm going to accomplish even a smidgen of what I set out to, I have to suck it up and become a flaming promosexual.

The true believers have joined me in sucking it up. (It's like a total suckfest.) Some of these believers have gone above and beyond the call of duty in helping me spread the fruit of my creative loins (ewwwww) and for them I am truly grateful. I don't forget these things.

You guys rock.

And I'll tell everyone.
xoxo

PS - Aside from VJ gigs on the 20th & 30th, I just agreed to DEEJAY a New Years Bash in Greenpoint.
Deets Coming Soon...

Shit keeps on getting better

If you write that enough times (like I did for the set of the video) it starts coming true, I swear. Or you just become so delusional, you don't believe anything can suck.

Anyway, Stereogum wants to know " ... who scored the Willy Wonka shit and can we get some?"

Thats one.

Two is after meeting with Chris Campion yesterday about the projections I'll be providing for their Bowery show on the 20th, I learned Gordon Gano is joining them for a few numbers... and one of my favorite Femmes tunes!

(Side note to Mom - remember when I used to dress Jessica & Marissa up and make them act out that "Waiting for the Bus" song, then we'd go ballistic dancing to that crazy xylophone-a-gogo tune? Gordon Gano is the lead singer of that band. I love them.)

(Side note to peers - Jessica & Marissa are my cousins. And the surprise tune is NOT "Waiting For The Bus" OR "Gone Daddy Gone". You'll just have to come to the show on the 20th to find out the mystery tune and what I conjure up for it.)

I live this shit. When I VJed for Hopewell a few months back, my favorite part was coming up with the eye candy for their killer cover of Jane's Addiction's "Of Course" This link doesn't even do it justice.

Anyway, it's like collaborating with my favorite bands beyond the grave. And this time I get to do it with the actual front man himself.
